Gloucestershire Christmas party guide

Gloucestershire Christmas party guide

CHECK OUT OUR GREAT GATSBY CHRISTMAS PARTIES

Venue: Cheltenham Town Hall
On the menu: Eight nights of extravagant Christmas parties are planned by events company Hype Agency, when Cheltenham Town Hall is transformed into an underground speakeasy, rebelliously entwining debauchery with decadence in lavish style. Ideal for corporate celebrations and groups of friends, the Great Gatsby Prohibition Parties will feature an extensive 1920s Christmas theme, complete with a sparkling wine reception, spectacular two- or three-course meal and finishing with a fantastic live band, DJ and disco – allowing mobsters and molls to say goodbye to their inhibitions and party the night away, safe from the detection of the law!
SoGlos loves: While the iconic setting of Cheltenham Town Hall takes some beating, added wow factor will come in the form of sensational acts over dinner, a full evening of themed entertainment courtesy of The Invisible Circus, a Grand Casino and themed photobooth and bar with a chill-out area too. Plus, exclusive hire is also available for a private bash of the most spectacular proportions.
When: The shared and exclusive Great Gatsby parties will be taking place from Friday 13 to Friday 20 December 2013.
How much: Tickets cost from £34.50 + VAT per person.

Tax Free Christmas Parties

Tax Free Christmas Parties

Tax Free Parties! Up to £150 for each employee and partner.

Christmas can be an expensive time for employers but we would like to remind all employers that company events for staff at this time of year can be tax free.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) allows companies an annual ‘gift’ of £150 per head for staff parties tax free. The £150 should cover the total cost of all food, drink, accommodation and transport, plus VAT, divided by the total number of guests. The number of guests should include non-employees such as partners who this £150 limit also applied to.

It is important to note that HMRC’s Xmas spirit only extends so far!” If the amount spent exceeds £150 per head they will expect full tax payment for not only the overspend but the full £150 as well.
Clive Lewis, Head of Medium Issues at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, said: “Not only is having a Christmas party a morale booster to staff it is also a reward for the hard work that has been put in over the year. Businesses should make the most of the tax free amount and not just resort to some warm wine and plastic cups in the office.”
It must be said that we are not tax experts at Company Christmas, but we do love a staff christmas party!

Please refer to this link http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/eim21690.htm for further information and annual party advice.

It goes without saying that we put on the best parties in town, so copy this article to the person with the budgets and have a staff party with us on the government. You deserve it!

Your Christmas party budget just got better!
